MadMax makes 4th in Nab Tower Race
Just out of the chocolates, but still a gratifying result in flooky
conditions that made our french tactician sweat a bit.
The North Sails Nab Tower Race was race 4 in the JOG Offshore Championship
held on Saturday 24 April 2004 , a 32 mile race, which whilst the breeze
was on, looked like getting us in for afternoon tea. However, as the breeze
died 3 miles off the Nab, and then the tide turned, we knew we were in
for the long haul...
Once round the Nab, kite up, we romped home and congratulated ourselves
for sticking it out. However, we also knew that those who didn't make
the rounding of the tower before the adverse current kicked in would need
all their staying power to finish the race.
