MaxFun Yachts
UK
It's an old story. You know, the one about how the man was so impressed
with the product, he bought the company...
...well this isn't quite like that. But when Andy Uren first stepped onboard
a MaxFun 35, it was one of those moments. Keen as mustard to try it out,
and impressed with the uncompromising approach to design, and of course
the boat's exhilarating performance, Andy's enthusiasm to promote this
boat in the UK, turned into reality. And MaxFun Yachts UK was formed.
Andy Uren has run a team building and corporate yacht charter company
Esprit
de Corps for four years, alongside a corporate communications business,
Day1 [now in its
21st year]. These core skills are being applied to the fledgling yacht
brokerage which will not only sell MaxFun 25s and 35s, but continue to
develop race training, team building and charter work.
The MaxFun 35 has created quite a stir in the Netherlands, where it was
voted Boat of the Year in 2003. The 35 footer owes its pedigree to its
smaller sister, the MaxFun 25 now a one-design fleet in its own
right, such is its popularity with the dutch racing fraternity. Quite
an achievement, given that the 25 was only launched in 2001.
